The Verdant Collapse, including the setting, factions, systems, and underlying lore, was created by JJ (@Miss Jest on JanitorAI). All canonical material is his original work: the Collapse itself, the Heartseed, Sync Systems, Surge, and the five factions with their sub-factions. JJ describes the series as a cyberpunk dystopia drawing light influence from The Last of Us.
